These terms govern your use of 403ai.org (the "Site"), operated by 403AI ("we", "us"). By using the Site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Site or to create an account. By using the Site, you represent and warrant that you are 18 or older. The Site is not intended for, and we do not knowingly permit, anyone under 18.

The service

The Site provides written content, a newsletter, optional user accounts, and community features. It is provided free of charge. We may add, change, suspend, or remove any feature at any time, with or without notice.

AI-generated content

Content and code on the Site are generated with AI and reviewed by humans. They are provided for general information only. They may be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date, and they are not professional, legal, financial, security, medical, or other expert advice. You are responsible for independently verifying anything before relying on it, and you use it at your own risk. We are not your advisor, and no professional relationship is created by your use of the Site.

Assumption of risk

The Site explores frontier, experimental, and contrarian topics in AI and software. You understand that information here may be untested or speculative, and you accept the risks of acting on it. Anything you build, run, or deploy based on the Site is your responsibility.

Accounts

You may create an account by signing in with a supported third-party provider (such as GitHub or Google). You choose a public handle, which may be pseudonymous. You are responsible for all activity on your account and for keeping your access secure. Pseudonyms are welcome; impersonating another person or entity is not. We may suspend or terminate an account at our sole discretion, including for any violation of these terms.

Acceptable use

When using the Site, you agree not to:

• use it for any unlawful purpose, or to harass, threaten, defame, or abuse others;
• post hateful, deceptive, infringing, or unlawful content, or spam;
• post sexual content involving minors, or any other content that is illegal in itself (zero tolerance);
• impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation;
• attempt to disrupt, probe, overload, or circumvent the security, rate limits, or access controls of the Site;
• scrape, harvest, or bulk-extract content or data except as expressly permitted; or
• use the Site to develop or distribute malware or to facilitate harm to others.

Your content

You retain ownership of content you submit. By submitting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable license to host, store, reproduce, and display it for the purpose of operating and promoting the Site. You represent that you have the right to submit it and that it does not violate these terms or the rights of others. You are solely responsible for your content. We may review, moderate, refuse, remove, or disable any content, and may withhold or revoke community posting, at our sole discretion and without notice.

Notice and takedown

If you believe content on the Site is illegal or infringes your rights, contact us at 403ai.org@gmail.com with enough detail to identify the content and the basis of your complaint. We will review valid notices and act on them, which may include removing content. We cooperate with valid legal process.

Our content

The Site's own content, design, and branding belong to us or our licensors and are protected by applicable law. Do not copy, redistribute, or reuse them without permission, except as allowed by law. Where we release tools or content under an open-source license, that license governs your use of those materials.

Third-party services

Sign-in and certain features rely on third-party providers. Your use of those services is subject to their own terms, and we are not responsible for them or for any content or service they provide.

Newsletter

The newsletter is optional. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.

Paid or collaborative arrangements

Any paid, consulting, or collaborative work is governed by a separate written agreement between you and us, not by these terms. Nothing on the Site is an offer to enter into such an arrangement.

Disclaimers

The Site is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, accurate, or error-free, or that any content is reliable.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, goodwill, or business, arising from or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Site, even if advised of the possibility. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Site is limited to USD 100. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you; in that case our liability is limited to the smallest amount permitted by law.

Indemnification

To the maximum extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Site, your content, or your violation of these terms or the rights of others.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site at any time, for any reason, including for any violation of these terms. You may stop using the Site or delete your account at any time. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will be posted here with a new effective date. Your continued use of the Site after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
